MEET GRETAIRA'S FOUNDERS
We didn’t choose coffee. Coffee chose us.
We were friends investing in real estate together when the opportunity came to purchase Wired Café in our hometown of Rockford, Illinois. The little coffee shop had helped spark downtown’s revival, and we wanted to carry its legacy forward.
We came together to preserve something meaningful: a small coffee shop making a big impact in our community. Along the way, we found something of our own.
As we learned the business, curiosity drew us deeper into coffee, its craft, its stories, and the possibilities in every bean. That curiosity led us to air roasting and, eventually, to Gretaira Coffee.
What started as a friendship became a partnership rooted in the belief that we could carve our own path, challenge assumptions, and help shape the next great era of coffee.
Coffee found its way into our story. We hope it becomes part of yours.

We started with curiosity and found a better way to roast. Coffee is meant to be an experience, a ritual, and a journey worth savoring. We select only high-quality specialty beans from around the world and air roast them to bring out each bean’s distinct character. The result is a smooth, flavorful cup without the harsh, burnt taste. Roasted fresh on demand, it’s quality you can actually taste.
We also dedicate 5% of our revenue to youth programs that promote economic empowerment and self-determination. So with every cup, you can make a difference while you taste the difference.
We roast on demand because freshness should never be compromised. We give back because success should create opportunities for others. And we continue pushing forward because the best discoveries are the ones we make for ourselves.
